    Eco-earth stuck in mouth.Newb

Hi guys new to this site but i heard it was a good place to ask my question. My BP has some dirt stuck in his mout that i cant seem to get out by soaking him. He's constantly opens his jaw but i dont think its a lung infection since theirs no mucus to speak of. He doesnt sem to be interested in his food because of the discomfort. Is their anyway to get that dirt off or are we looking at a more serious problem here.

Sounds like something a vet should look at. If it is causing him not to eat it is serious. especially if it is causing changes in behavior like constantly opening his mouth. Hope that helps

Dirt? If you are talking about a chunk of something, you can open the snake's mouth and use tweezers to get it out. Change your bedding to newspaper or paper towels, monitor your heat and humidity levels, and take the snake to the vet.

to open its mouth: First put it on a flat surface, next gently but firmly grasp right behind its head and use a small object like a playing card and put it towards its mouth applying a little pressure. That should get it to open its mouth so you can get the dirt out. BUT like everyone has said, please get it to a vet. Right before my first bp died it had the substrate sticking to its mouth due to the mucous from a bad RI. Even though you can't see it, it may be sick.

yeah my bf managed to get most of the dirt off but he suspects he might be a little sick because he found that he had build up some mucus in his mouth. I havent seen him open up his jaw but he's been in his hide all day. I guess the vet it is. You guys think this might be serious.
