Rat rack and a snake rack in the same room?
Do you think I could do it? I understand there is a risk of smelling like rat and handling a snake and getting bit, but I would keep it all very clean. And will have plenty of hand sanatizer...
Another question about rodent pro. I just orderd some rats and mice, they will be shipped out today, will they be here tomarow or will it be a few days? It said something about the 12th..... Just curious.

Re: Rat rack and a snake rack in the same room?
As far as Rodent Pro, you'd have to call or email them. None of us can tell you when a supplier is likely to deliver. That's between you and your supplier.
As far as keeping rodents in the same room as snakes, I've done it but prefer not to. It's almost impossible to not smell of prey if you are working around them and it's all too easy to forget and reach in and grab a water dish or something and get nailed. I did it for a year, it worked okay but now we keep them in seperate areas. I was always concerned when I housed them in the same room if the smell of a predator upset the rats or if the smell of prey all the time was affecting the snakes.

Re: Rat rack and a snake rack in the same room?
i have in the past kept rodents in the same room as my reptiles but it always seemed like my snakes were to often in feeding mode . right now my rats are in a room across the hall from the room i keep my snakes in . the door to my snakes room is always open and the door to my rats room is always closed unless i'm in there . i have noticed that when i go into the rat room for more than a few minutes and then go look at the snakes , they are all out and looking to the tops of their cages like they expect dinner . it seems that even though the rats are 25 feet away or more from my snakes that they can smell/taste them in the air even at that distance . it may or may not be stressful to my reptiles , but i figure why take chances .

I've got a fan mounted in a window to pull air out of my rat room to the outside, it seems doing that my snakes don't seem to stay in feed mode all the time.
