    Thumbs up Success at last!

For those keeping up with the Emily-formerly-known-as-Trey saga:

I've been assist feeding her for several weeks now, started with pinkies and moved up to fuzzies.
Tonight for the first time, when I dangled her hopper beside her....POW! she snatched it and constricted that poor little thawed rodent, lol. It was really funny watching her swallow it, too, poor thing was leaning like the tower of Pisa.

So there it is...the post I honestly doubted I would ever be making! We have an eater!

As a funny aside, two of our other snakes tried to eat my husband. He must look like a really big mouse! I was pretty much rolling, laughing at the whole spectacle.

That's AWEsome!!! You have done such an amazing job with this little one! SO many people would have given up on him long ago!

As soon as she gets a little more size on her, take her back to the vet and say "Remember that itty bitty baby you were helping?" I'm sure he'd LOVE to hear such good news!

    Thanks, ya'll!
Judy, that's an excellent idea, I will do that. I've been in contact with the vet and his staff several times, so it will be fun to show them the progress!
Here is a pic of Emily a while back, at her smallest. This is when she was still being tube fed and just before we started with the mice.Tiny baby!

thats great Sarah. that really is. i know its very stressful and discouraging it is to have a non-eater. when my male took a rat after 6-7 months it was the best feeling EVER. im really happy for you and keep up the good work!

    Re: Success at last!

Judy....that was at her smallest point, she was so very tiny but also still so very determined and adventurous. She has always surprised me in that regard. She has gained quite a bit of weight since then, I will take some more pics of her in a few days. Honestly, I almost gave up on her a few times, but the support and help I've gotten from the people here really helped me so much.

Marshall, you are so right! I was so shocked and amazed when Em snatched that mouse, I was seriously tearing up by the time she got to swallowing. Cuz I'ma girl! hehe
