High Humidity!!!
Okay. . . I have a three in one thermometer on the wall with humidity, temp, and barometric pressure. I own some fish tanks so my humidity is 90-95%. . . will this be a problem if I plan on keeping a ball python and a corn snake? There's not much I can do to reduce the humidity in my apartment. I can't get rid of my fish or my turtle Squishey. Help.

Re: High Humidity!!!
if the snake tanks are at 90- 95% then yes this will be a problem
you can get a dehumidifer from wal-mart or run lights on the BP or snake tanks those rob humidity like a felon.

Re: High Humidity!!!
you might want to get another hydrometer and double check that humidity? at 90-95% mold ,bacteria, fungus will have a field day in your apartment. at that level you should have condensation on the walls and at least mold growing somewhere.

Re: High Humidity!!!
No doubt Vaughn LOL but on another note....I have well over 1000 gallons of aquariums running in my little 2bdrm apartment, and the ambient humidity is always between 35-50%, I find it too dry in here LOL....do you ever open any windows for fresh air or anything? that just sounds crazy LOL

Re: High Humidity!!!
Depending on where they live I Live in the south and in the summer we get 80 to 90% humidity for weeks but in an apartment it would be like a sauna.
Where is the hygrometer in relation to the tanks Alicia. If they are right next to them or over them then yea you might read 85 - 90 %. Try on of the indoor outdoor Accu rights that we use our tanks put it where you want to put your snakes and see what the RH is there. The dail ones tend to be inaccurate even in the humidor's I have.
