    Albino BP cost?

Can anyone give me a ballpark cost what an Albino BP might have cost anyone lately. I've heard they are starting to come down in cost.

    Re: Albino BP cost?

    $1400-1600 right now.......

....there are two posts just below this one.....one asking the same exact question...and one selling a het female

    http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...d.php?p=421313

Albino ball pythons will always be one of the highest demanded animals out there.....no matter who has one or how many they are.....I think if they hit the $1000 mark...they will hover for a while. If you don't believe me.....look at the way albino burms are sold....and they can have clutches of 60 eggs per female...

You could always try hets. It's a cheap way to get started into morphs!

Yeah, you can go with one het male and about 4 or 5 normal females and prove out all the babies too. I personally wouldn't do it though. It would take about 6-7 years to make a morph! lol.

    Just wondering, why?

I'm doing that with three het males (het clown, het hypo and het pied). I know it's going to take some time, but I'm breeding for the love of the animal, not for $ signs. Do I expect to make back my investment? Absolutely! Do I expect to make some money to invest back into my breeding projects, or pay for a vacation, or maybe even Christmas presents? Absolutely!Am I doing it because I think I can get rich quick? No way! I've got more time than money, I love the animals, and if I can make enough money to support my passion, I'm thrilled! The fact that I'll likely support my hobby AND more is just a bonus!

I was just saying, that I personally wouldn't do it because it taking 6-7 years or longer. I don't care for the money at all. I would rather buy a het pair and make them on the first try.

Or a het male and 4 or 5 het females and, short of the ball python gods hating you, will have albinos in your first breeding season. Which, IMHO is far more rewarding than just buying an albino outright.

in the future i plan on getting hets, i don't want to just buy a morph...

but playing around with a het and a couple of normals, is a little to hectic, espeically you inbreed them, perosnally i just don't like that idea
