1. They are not nearly expensive now as when they were first being captively produced.

2. Albinism is a recessive gene, you must have 2 snakes with the gene to produce albino babies.

3. (I would assume this could be a reason as well) Clutch size is smaller than that of larger snakes such as the Burmese python.

I hope their price doesn't come down too much by the time I am able to produce some babies...
