Nothing, it's a mutation all by itself.

Well, of course it is its own mutation but I am asking how it becomes that mutation. What are the genetics of the mutation??? You don't just breed two reg ball pythons and get a desert ghost, you have to have two certain morph parents to produce desert ghost offspring.... or so I would assume.

From my understanding its genetics are still a mystery.

Arcina... how do you think any of the morphs started? Someone didn't just breed to normals and produced them! I believe a majority of the morphs are from people proving out captive hatched babies. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Desert Ghost Ball pythons??
This morph is not like a super Pastel or bumble bee or pinstripe spider or pastel pied or even lavendar albino pied where it takes two morphes to create them. They find these mutations in the wild and then through selective breeding and inbreeding and working with hets and poss hets they prove the line some ressicive genes take years. Dom and codom genes can be proved in one generation.
Hope this helped clear up the mess.

Lavander albinos are not a combo morph.

Actually most are found in the wild then they breed them to normals and breed back the babies if they aren't Dom or Codom to see if it is recessive.
