The thermometer on the side of the tank has ranged from 87 to 77 degrees (glass surface) I suppose my main question is...should I be alarmed about her restlessness? (Is it an indication that she is getting stressed or too cold?)

Two heating pads and a lamp seem a bit much, and without a more accurate thermometer it's possible you have too much heat.

Can you describe the setup? What size tank? Substrate? Average temperature of the room?

A little more info, and a more reliable temperature reading would be very helpful.
