I had this happen every now and then. I have the probe laying on the substrate under his hides. Every once in a while, when he enters, he will either lift it off of the substrate which results in lower temp readings or drive it deeper into the substrate which results in higher temps. I have used aluminum tape now and taped it to the inside of the hide so that it is touching the substrate. So far he hasn't moved it!!Originally Posted by Spaniard
I have an accurite thermometer with the probe on my warm side. The probe is in my snakes hide laying on the substrate. It reads 92.5, i watch my snake enter the hide with the probe and i see the temp fall to 86.5. Any thoughts? Is this the body temp of the snake? I'm confused
