    Eye need help!!! (DU Warning)

Ok. So about a year ago I bought my husband a ball python for his birthday. I went to the local pet shop, where they had a few adults crammed up in one tank. I looked at a few of them, and choose the one I liked. Which happened to be the only female in the tank. The shop employee told me she still had eye caps, and that they would come off durning her next shed, that if they didn't to bring her back, and she would take them off for me.

We'll time went by, she stopped eating for me, shed, and kept her eye caps. I brought her back to the pet shop, where they tried to remove them (without success). At that time I also learned she was "gravid" and was going to lay eggs. They told me that they thought she was a captive bred, but remembered her being in with a bunch of WC males.

Well anyways, here's my problem....I don't think her eye caps have EVER came off. And I think the pet shop actually F-d one of her eyes up! She just shed again last week so I took some pictures. If anyone (or ADAM ) could give me their opinion/help!

PS. I took pics of her shedded skin also, to show that her caps DID come off durning this shed, but her eyes are still f-d up. Do you think she could have multiple eye caps??

I wouldn't worry about it I guess. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Depression in eye caps happens during sheding occationaly. I think when they tried to get the caps of they pressed down to firmly and they wrincled the scale. Correct me if im wrong. Soak her. And by her next shed she should have nice eyes again! (please someone correct me if im wrong)

Hm.. I do see intact eye-caps on her shed; however her eyes on your snake do look wrinkly a little. See, low humidity also can cause this look to their eyes; maybe the store mistook it as eyecaps, and tried taking off her actual good eyecaps when they were just wrinkled?? How is your humidity now? It may just be something you'll need to wait-out until her next shed. I would do a major humidity upping when you notice a pink belly/eyes going blue so she has a nice one-piece shed. Saran wrap over a screen lid does wonders; if you have a tank.

She's in a r-maid! I jumped her humidity up to 70-75% as soon as I saw her pink belly. This pretty much has been an on-going problem with her. I've soaked her, put her in the tub many of times. Like I said before her caps came off during this shed, I just think she may have multiple caps!!

Re: Eye need help!!! (DU Warning)

Retained eyecaps would be stacked on top of her most recent ones. Since she had intact eyecaps on her latest shed, she does not have any retained ones. The wrinkled spectacles could be a sign that she is dehydrated, so be sure to keep fresh water available and keep the humidity in a good range, and she will be fine.

If she is dehyrdated or the humidity is low for her shed then the eye scales will wrinkle. The eye caps are on the shed so their not retained so your good there. Try bumping the humidity up for a few days and see if that helps.
