Red Tail Boa Feeding problems

My Redtail boa hasn't ate in over a month now does anyone know why this may be?
She has a 75 gallon tank with a hide and a water bowl in it at all times with a heating pad on the bottom and a light on from time to time to keep up the cages temperature during the day

Does she soak a lot? What is the humidity at? Temps? How do you read the temps? Thermometer, analog or digital? All this will help us tell you what your problem might be, but a vet check up might be in order too. Mites will do this to a snake; rub your hand down her body and if you see any red smears, it's mites. Provent-a-mite from www.mgreptiles.com will cure that quickly. If you use a screen top; the humidity levels might not be high enough and could be stressing her out badly enough to not eat too.

You need another identical hide on the cool side and one on the warm side. What are the temps?

i have a digital thermometer/hygrometer in the tank it measures both sides and i also have a prob to check temps periodically.

She doesn't have mites and she was at the vet less then two weeks ago.
Her temps are around 85 during the day but she does have a place to bask which temps out at 90degrees and at night the coolest it gets is 78 if it drops lower than that then an alarm will beep
she has just gotten over a respiratory infection which she had when i got her and that was a a week ago
she always has access to a water bowl and no she doesn't soak in it

you may have been overfeeding also. i was talking to someone just a day or two ago whose BCI would not eat for almost 2 months and finally it did and she thinks it could be in part of eating too much. how often do you feed it? what is its' age and size?

ya, what size is the boa?
what size food are you offering?

perhaps she isn't eating because of her illness. have you been handling her a lot or letting her rest and settle in. i'm guessing she's a fair size since you have her in such a large tank.

often larger boas don't care about hides. i have one hide in with my boas... they either use it or not - most times i find them curled up on top or beside it LOL (each in their own enclosure of course, not housed together)

why are you letting the temps drop at night? i keep mine at a constant temp and both my boas are doing great.

hopefully some of the much more educated (than me) people will come on and assist you. but if you could be specific... tell us the age, size of your boa. substrate used. what type of lid, ventilation etc - all that would be very helpful.

it's 9 years old and 6 feet+
i don't know how often the old owner fed her but i was going to every other week. the old owner told me to take water out of her cage because it was filling her up. which i think is total BS.
I talked to the vet and she said she could go a year without eating if she wanted to
and no she still has access to water in her cage
glass tank screen lid. coconut bedding. and she's never in her hides.
the reason the tank drops that low at night is because my house gets colder and its harder to keep heat higher than 80 but it usually stays around 80

From other members experience on this board they state that boes tend not to use hides as they get older... might be better to remove the altogether. Second if she just had an RI I would bet almost all my money on that. Think about it... if you pop 2 nyquill and wait for it to take affect your not going to go eat a half of pizza. My baby boy Kole is a BP but when he had an RI I waited until the day I had to give him the shot and fed him right before it. Wait until you know that the medicine has worn off... let her become herself again and then try feeding her.
