Addicted: Another BP
Hey everyone! Hope everyone is doing well Well, I got a new baby bp. I was at the closest "exotic" pet store to my place (about a 30 min drive) two days ago and was looking through what they had. A ton of skinks, tegus, bps, rtbs, a blood, sugar glider, baby tortoises, baby igs, the whole shebang. Somewhat shady place, an employee told us he could get us a monkey if we wanted for $6k. I asked if they had any "hot" snakes and he said "why, you want one?, i can get it." lol that kind of shady. I didn't like the conditions the snakes were living in, two crowded 6' rtbs in the same somewhat small enclosure, a couple bp hatchlings together, some rtb hatchlings hatchlings together. one bp stuck out to me; gorgeous. i picked him up, asked about the most recent mite problem which was about a year ago, the employee seemed extremely honest. i checked out the other bps and the one i eventually picked, for visible mites, whole body, eyes, or any stuck shed. looked great, next is from a breeder but i couldn't stand to let him/her (yes, unsexed)sit there and he did look good. crossing fingers for no internal problems but i'm guessing since he's been a regular feeder and shows head shyness, curiosity, temp regulation, and great skin/eyes it'll be ok. felt i could give him/her a great life. but i am taking him/her to the vet soon for a basic check up (talked to a local vet specializing in herps, seems a group of great people) and also they are going to sex for me. decided on the name Abasi, so gorgeous, can't wait to help and watch Abasi grow. also switch both Eden (rtb) and Aza (bp) to f/t. love it. i definitely like it more than live personally, i think because it's just more convenient for me living in the city, cheaper, and less worries (even though there wasn't much to begin with), glad they took it. Eden even took 2 f/t after killing the rat for the second time lol and Aza smelled it out and just straight swallowed it but refused the 2nd (didn't have it heated up enough, so i decided just to continue next feeding) thanks everyone for listening. i'll get some pics up when i get a camera. take it easy and i'm sorry this was so long lol.

Re: Addicted: Another BP
Sounds like things are going great for ya, Billy! Make sure you keep the new guy totally separate from the ones you already have....at least for 3 months. And if you can, go ahead and get a can of Provent-a-Mite as a preventative measure.
And above all else...YOU MUST GET US PICS!
