    Flexwatt question

so I've decided to move from a tank to a tub for college..

using a sterilite tub I used foil tape to tape 1/2 of the tub with flexwatt underneath which is plugged into a dimmer. I left the dimmer on max just to see how hot it got and after 2 days my temps aren't going up??

my room is about 77 deg and in the tank the warm side only reads 78 and the cool 77??? I can lift up the tank and feel the flexwatt warm/ borderline hot underneath and yet temps arent being affected inside the tank.. whats up with that?

I'm using aspen bedding by the way. I tried moving the dimmer in the other direction but that of course just turned the flexwatt off. I even removed the flexwatt completely and retaped it to try and get a more snug fit (feels as snug as it can get)

I'm thinking i may have to staple the middle of the flexwatt to the bottom of the tank to get it to compeltely lay flat agaisnt it... thoughts?

I would not use staples as you could cut something and in turn cause a fire.It sounds like the dimmer or your connections are not working properly,i would recheck everything. How do you have the power cord attached to the flex-watt? I hope its not taped
