i am wanting to build one!! I found a decent sized one that i could fit alot of racks in!! Pretty decent price too!! I dought its inselated. How muxch insilation would be needed to keep warmth in and really hottness/coldness out? Also how owuld you heat it?! i want somehting that would be easy on the electric bill. Any other suggestions?! Thanks alot!!

Wouldn't a space heater do the job? Not one of those little box ones, but one designed to heat a whole room? Something like this.

Get an oil filled heater. Slow, steady heat and guaranteed not to burn anything down.

i use a room heater. it works great for cold days/nights.

one thing you'll also need is a small (maybe window) air conidtioner. espescially in texas. you'd be supprised how fast a small room would heat up if its not attached to a house. (i know this from my room being our "guest house")

you are going to want to INSULATE it, ceiling, sides, floor. As much insulation as you can get into it. The oil filled heaters will EASILY heat it, and they are practically IMPOSSIBLE to start a fire with. Also very very energy efficient.
If it has at least one window, you can put a fan into it when it gets hot and hopefuly circulate enough air to not need an AC, but you may indeed end up needing it if the inside gets too hot.

We dont think the fan will keep everythong ion the lower 80's. Any other cooling ideas?!
