The Downside to Routines - Snakie Guilt

So, my kids are on a weekly feeding schedule of every Tuesday.

Stopped by my local pet store on the way home as usual - tanks FULL of nothing but hoppers. Same price as adult mice - I just couldn't bring myself to buy hoppers for my crew, and the rats they had were large mediums - those were out of the question.

So, home I come - with nary a mouse or rat and all the kids are looking at me like "Yaaaaayyyyyyy it's feeding day!!!!" I had to slink out of the room with my head hanging down.

They're supposed to get another order of mice in on Thursday - so I'll try again.

I had that same problem today Fortunatly they had 1 mouse, so that took care of one and I bought rat pups for the other. She really struggled with the rat pups too, not that it fought back but they are little and she just couldnt seem to get a good squeeze on em, at one point she tried to eat it live then changed her mind. And other than super huge rats they had really small ones so slinky will have to live with that for a week. This is the 3rd week tho. This keeps up maybe Ill just start breeding my own or switch shops.

Luckily they don't complain when a day is missed. My cat will meow me to death if his food situation isn't proper.

Must admit I don't have a set routine - but if I'm a bit late than the normal 10 days or so they will poke their heads out and stalk me with their eyes, especially the BCI!

Yea I have had this problem more than once. The good thing is like you said Spainiard if you are on a schedule then a couple of days isn't debtremental to their health. Thats the upside. The down side is you might have to alter your schedule. And that sucks

The downside is the guilt trips they send you on - never knew that Pretzel could stare me down so hard! LOL

She's in the bedroom, so she and her sister Bailee just followed my every move, willing a mouse to appear! LOL
