    Question

Will as you may notice I'm new to the forum but I bought a 3' Ball Python from a buddy the other day.. The snake sheded about 1 week ago from what he told me and the only problem is its still covering the eye on 1 side.. Will this fall off or should I be worried about this???

First off Welcome to the group .OK sometimes if the humidity is incorrect during the shed cycle the snake will retain some of its shed.If you spray his enclosure some he might just rub it off himself. What are your temps on your hot side and your cool side? Does the shed on his eye look like its just covering his eye or that general area? If its just his eye thats covered i suggest you wait until he goes thru his next shed and it should come off then as long as you have your humidity correct.

    Re: Question

Nope because you run a much higher risk of damaging the eye by trying to remove a stuck eyecap than by just leaving it alone.

    PS. Welcome!

    Re: Question

sd, you should raise the temperature. i'm not sure what your friend gave you/you bought in terms of setup but an under the tank heater would help if it was on a dimmer (cheap fix but demands your attention more) or a thermostat (much more expensive, much better). i'm not sure if the "temp- 75" is your cool side or warm side, i'm hoping cool, even though it should be raised a little and the warm side during the day (or some just keep it constant) should be 90-92. the humidity looks alright even though it might be edging up a bit high but i'm sure that'll be fine, especially with your situation of the ball retaining an eyecap. i'd drop the humidity down (around 55%) and only spray every so often, maybe once or twice a day. hope maybe i helped and welcome!
