i usually see a 1-2 deg. difference in thermostat probe readings and accurites. close enough for our use. this is with helix and herpstat probes. the rancos and johnsons are usually 2-3 deg. difference, still plenty good enough for our purposes! in thermometers to accurately measure better than 2 deg. +/-, most of them cost 150 bucks and up. not really needed unless you are ocd about temps/incubation.


helix and herpstat both having working accuracy to .9 tenths of one degree. i would spend my money on good stats and cheap thermometers(accurites) but i also already have good thermometers for work.
