    Is this normal?

so, this being my first snake owned (RTB about 2 months old), i'm a little confused.

I've fed her twice already, both times to mice. and a couple of days later found something in her cage. both times it was just one ¿digested? mouse. What i find weirdest is that its the 2nd mouse i fed her. I know this because this past time i fed her a white mouse first and then a black mouse. so...what happened to the first mouse? and why did this second mouse come out? and is it normal waste product, or was it regurgitated?

    i'm confused. hoping nothings wrong.

    any ideas?

It's probably regurge. What are the temps and how do you measure them?

on the hot side, the temp is 88-98 degrees, and on the cool side its 85-90 degrees. humidity is 40-50% throughout.
now i have two things that im' measing the temperature with. one is a digital thermometor thing that also measures the humidity and the other is like a thermometer strip. i just place them inside the cage on one side and on the other (not directly below the heat lamp, though).

    WOAH!

Thats a HUGE fluctuation on the hot side. Just get a UTH with a dimmer/thermostat and your temps should stay on 88-89 depending on how high you keep it.

    Re: Is this normal?

see, thats my problem: i dont know where to measure it or how. every place that i put it gives me a different reading, and also depending with what i read it with. the stip tells me its 95-98 but the digital one says its anywhere from 88 to 95...so i'm at a loss.

i have the heat lamp on a timer, so its only on 12 hours of the day.

Save the hassle and Get a UTH and dimmer. It would be much easier to measure temps because it would heat the whole half instead of a select spot in the tub/tank.

Throw away the strip and keep the digital. They are much better.

    UTH as in...under tank heater?
i've already got one of those, but its not on a dimmer.
are you suggesting getting rid of the heat lamp all together? and only using the under tank heater?

    Re: Is this normal?

Yup... get a dimmer or a thermostat. (Thermostats are more reccommended.) Hook it to the UTH and the UTH should keep the temps to where you need them!

    Re: Is this normal?

Has the snake been checked by a vet? Vomiting or failure to fully digest can be caused by internal parasites. Also, get those temps right as measured by a digital thermometer. 88-92 on the warm side (Boas don't need their temps so high) and 82-84 on the cool. Good luck!
