Gray mice?
Question for those of you that have a picky eater BP.
I have two and one is pickier than the other. They only will eat live or freshly killed and still have to move it. They will not eat rats.
But the best is that they will not eat gray or spotted mice. Has anyone else had this experience? It has happened to me a couple times that I have not paid attention at the color of the mouse when I buy them. But every time, specially my female will not go after a mouse that is not just white!
I thought they were supposed to be color blind. In any case I was just curious if anyone else has had this problem.

Re: Gray mice?
I've had some that wouldn't eat any other color mice than white. When they grew up they began eating anything....
Just feed yours whatever color it likes..........

Re: Gray mice?
Sometimes BPs do show a preference for color. Since I got my BPs, I have fed them many colors of mice (cinnamon, grey, black, brown, black & white, albino, gold, etc). If you only stay with one color, then the BP will 'imprint' on that color only.

Re: Gray mice?
When I first ordered my F/T from rodent pro the sent me all dark colored rodents, next time I had to order they were all white. I experienced a little difficulty getting her to take the white ones but patience and hunger finally won over picky ball.
