    wierd behavior?

well just yesterday i noticed apep is bout to go though another shed. his eyes have that greyish blue color to them. temp. is at 89 degree, i sprayed water (mist) inside the tank to up the humidity to 60 percent. well shortly after i sprayed it, i went to pull apep out of his hide. he expanded himself to where i couldnt budge him. he then tried to strike me. is this possibly because he is goin through a shed? advice?

In my experience, a few of them do tend to hiss or strike during a shed. I would leave the snake alone until it finishes the cycle and not handle it unless absolutely necessary.

My snake was in shed when I got him about a month ago. The day the skin came off, he hissed at me when I reached into the tank (unusual--he's normally happy to come out of the tank for some exploring), so I let him be. Twelve hours later, the skin was off and he was back to his old self.

Snakes tend to be jumpy and on edge when they are in shed, especially when they are in blue (Blueish eyes). Remember that they really can't see and anything moving can be very stressful and scary to them. It's like being in a room with things moving quickly around you but you can't see anything. When my babies go in to shed, I just leave them alone. Once the skin is off and they can see again, they are back to their normal happy selves The only time that I ever go in the cage when they are in shed is when I have to clean it and I have gotten tagged a few times from, normally, docile snakes because of it.

Yeah they get moody when in shed. I have 3 snakes right now who are annoyed and moody. Just up the humidity and leave him be.

ive uped the temp just a tad bit, and the humidity is mid 40's, then low 50's when i mist the tank. he's been in his hide for almost 2 days straight now. barely moving. im assuming he's fixin to shed any day now. he's just chill.

About a day or two after the eyes clear up, he'll shed.
