Yeah, mites like eyes. By quarantine, I hope you mean at LEAST in a separate room. I'm not sure about corns, but with ball pythons, soaking in water helps to release some of the mites. When you get the Provent-A-Mite, spray a "trail" of it around the outside of the cage, and also around the outside of the cages of your NON-infected snakes. Mites travel. They are BAD news! I've read that if you see one, there are probably hundreds more that you don't see.
I recently bought a pair of spotted pythons from a trusted source. I discovered mites last weekend. I soaked both snakes, and found just one mite on one of them, and only about 10 on the other one. Treated their cages (10 gal aquariums) with Provent-A-Mite using newspaper for substrate. When I looked today, I was able to see about a 1/2 dozen more mites in the male's cage on the newspaper.
Be sure to watch your other snakes very closely. It might not be a bad idea to go ahead and treat their enclosures also.
