Re: Sprocket Fired Up
Jo, he's so cute! I LOVE the chocolate ones so much!
He looks like he could be a buckskin... but he's got some nice tiger stripes showing up, too. Maybe a chocolate tiger? Or he could end up being a patternless chocolate, or a dalmation... lol, it's really hard to tell when they're young. Cresties change their colors dramatically as they age. Check this link out: http://acreptiles.com/geckos_crested_colors.htm
He could end up being orange for all we know, lol! That's what's so great about them.
Anyway, something for future consideration... when I start getting back into cresties, I'd love to start a dark chocolate project (maybe get a black gecko someday????). Maybe we could work something out in the way of a breeding loan or something...
He's looks great though... green with jealousy here in Indiana.
EDIT: Oh, and about the tail... most cresties have those creamy tails. There are some few out there that are being bred for solid colored tails, but, for the most part, they all have the wavy creamy pattern.

Congrats again on the baby he is so cute. I don't know if you would call him a buckskin or not, he is a bit darker than the bucks I have seen in person. Regardless he is amazing at night. Good luck with him,

Wow, Joanna, he really is growing! And perfectly adorable, as you are already well aware, hahaha.
I'm determined to get Jeff to fall in crestie love, too.

Re: Sprocket Fired Up
looking good! right now when fired up he looks like a patternless buckskin, although as has been noted his color may change some as he matures. in my experience geckos that are that particular color as juvies are usually some shade of brown or reddish brown as adults. he also may develop some nice dalmation spots--you can see them now when he isn't fired up but they may darken to nice black dalmation spots that you can see whether he is fired up or not.

Re: Sprocket Fired Up
Thanks everyone. All these different colors and markings on cresties are just fascinating. Can't wait to find out if lil Sprocket is actually a boy or girl crestie but that will come in time and thank goodness the name is rather generic (and just saying it makes me giggle lol). I love that picture of Mike with the wee crestie...kind of..."hey look over here...in this big human paw...it's me...SPROCKET THE EVER SO BRAVE!" (able to scale large humans in a series of bounds, faster than a speeding meal worm)

Re: Sprocket Fired Up
Well Sarah I don't know about your hubby Jeff but my Mike said he wasn't at all interested in some little bit of nothing lizard (his idea of lizards are like big beardies and monitors and so forth) but if I wanted one, fine with him. Amazing though how this little cutie pie quickly worked the typical crestie magic and Mike is really enjoying handling him and watching his antics as much as I am. Lovely little creatures and so easy to keep too (makes a lovely easy giftie for the wifey Jeff *nudge nudge hint hint* probably the easiest birthday gift shopping my hubby ever did...went like this...look Joanna...cresties over there!....*hubby quickly follow running wife across the herp show whilst opening wallet* shopping done...happy wife...and crestie always "fit" LOL)

LOL, Joanna, I can actually picture that scenario. Hilarious!
I've got a few months to work on Jeff before my birthday, so we'll see
