Re: Incubator out of a mini Fridge?????

    Danny,
Actually some of my clutches did incubate at 91 degrees, which is a lttle higher than I wanted, but they did fine. They ust hatched a few days earlier.

Yeah, free is always good, and a mini fridge is perfect for just a few clutches. Plus a smaller fridge is easy to get the temps homogeneous throughout. Our fridge incubator was perfect for us this season with 7 clutches, but we'll need something bigger for next year. The nice thing is that upgrading only involves getting a bigger insulated box, as you can always move the fan/thermostat to the new one.

Evan I love your post because it is so true, all I have to do is untape a couple things and look what else my incubator is good for:

    The actual dimensions are: 33 5/16"h x 19 3/4"w x 19 3/4"d

An incubator for two seasons and a beverage cooler for the other two. LOL
How many Rubbermaids do you think I could fit in here? I only need to fit about three this year, but in the future?
I guess I will find out myself when it gets here this upcoming Saturday. Yippee! Score!

What size tub does everyone use for the eggs? ALso Nice deal you got. I paid $10 for my apartment sized redfridege 4.5 feet tall. I also paid 40 for the glass so 50 for mine and its probably almost twice the size of yours but then I had to buy the liquid nails, silicone, foam and all that other work. Great deal.

Aren't there laws against mixing Coke and Pepsi in the same fridge? You'd better check your local codes before you get raided!

Thank you Allison. Believe me if I get jammed up while building it you will hear my mouth LOL.

It may sound weird but I am actually concerned that the fridge is not going to hold heat in well enough. That is just me though a worry wart. I am always concerned about my babies, if it is a gecko, beardie or snake. It will look great.
