    should I hold him??

Sorry that there is another thread about this but it is basicaly the same question with a different circomstance. I have have my ball python for about 4 days now. He seems active enough but still alert. and I was wondering if it was time to start breif holding sesions?

The circomestance is that when he was at the pet store i must have been there evry day for like a week and a half straight holding him. Later down the line in that week and a half i could walk around, looking for suplies for him and getting all the prices, and he was fine with it. What i mean was he was still as playful as if i were standing right by his tank.

So the basic question is could i hold him now or should I wait?

P.S. he would only be with me when we walked around, anyone else and he'd be all nervious.
I Got a Ball Python named NATHAIR!!!!!
(Nathair is irish Gaelic for snake)
NATHAIR is the coolest snake i could ever hope to own!
This is my friends and I, on a Saturday night. Might give u a little idea about me, lol.

P.S. I m the one on the far left. Kenny is next to me. And Jimmy is doing his thing on the right.

Have you been able to get him to feed successfully in his new home yet?

I'd wait until after you've gotten the first successfull feeding (and waiting the day or two it would take him to digest).

(so just give it another 3 or 4 days?)

Also since i have only had him for a little bit do u think i could change his name b/c no one likes cartman and it sounds to generic. I was thinking about a name that means something to me, "nathair" is the irish gaelic word for snake and i think a little cultural to him would warm up my father to him. I am only asking if u think it is like heartless or something of that sort?

According to "The Ball Python Manual" you shouldn't handle it until it's fed four times in a row. That might be a bit much but it wouldn't hurt.

Let him settle in completly! He may not be showing signs of stress but he probably still is a bit. Handling him will only make him more stressed out right now. You do not want that!

If all goes well you'll have your snake for a very long time. Patience is a must with bps and if you don't have it now, you'll have it soon. I would wait a few successful feeds before i started to do any major handling.

Trust me...the snake doesn't care what you name it. You could change its name every week if you wanted to. Whatever works best for you and makes you happy. The snake will be happy if its environment is just right and that's pretty much all he cares about.
