    UTH and Wooden Vivs?

    Hi,
Just wondering how people use a UTH with a wooden viv? Apparently it shouldnt be placed in the cage but the thick melemine base of the viv doesnt let much heat through at all if the UTH is placed underneath?
    Any Suggestions?
    Cheers

Are you building a cage, or already have one set up? I'm not sure how it works with a completely wood cage, but the wood cage I have actually has a formica floor- the same material that is used for kitchen counter tops- so I can put a UTH up under it just like I would a tank or plastic tub.

I already have it set up, just not sure how to use the UTH with it. At the mo its inside the tank running on a reliable thermostat and covered with newspaper (which I have secured so he CANNOT get access to the heat directly) and the covered with about 1.5inches of aspen. This seems to be working fine, but I know some people are really against putting them inside the tank.
    Any more help is appreciated.
    Cheers

Yeah, I have no idea, so I'm gonna let some of the more technically inclined answer, lol. Sorry.

You could cut a hole big enough for your heater in the bottom and use a router around the edge so you can drop a piece of glass or plexiglass that you can attach the heater to on the underside.
