mouth open
So the pet shop I've been working at for 6 weeks found a BP in a cage on their doorstep yesterday. My guess is that it's about a year and a half to two years old. It looks like an average BP but will just lay there or roam around with its mouth open. They said it ate but when i went to take a look at it there was a mouse in the cage dead and the snake was trying to get out. It can close it's mouth... they said its mean... what could be the problem? Abuse?

Re: mouth open
Is its breathing labored?
Did you look INSIDE the snake's mouth? Sometimes neglected snakes will develop mouth rot and the swollen tissue in the mouth will make the snake's mouth appear to be slightly open. I've seen that in a few boas and pythons here and there.
Pictures would be very helpful.

Re: mouth open
Could be a URI, mouth rot, or possibly an abcess in the back of the mouth. Sounds like it needs to be looked at by a vet.

No pics necessary ... just a vet trip.
