    Orpheus' Adventure

Woke up this morning and when into the herp room to ckeck for poo and water levels and see if any lights had burned out ect.ect. Orpheus had pooped so I opend his cage to get that out. After cleaning out his cage I figured I would check on him. Lift one hide no Orpheus, lifted the second one no Orpheus.

:cens0r: Ok don't panic. Close the door. Oh the herp room is escape proof so I know he's in the room. Think heat sources and tight spaces I took one look at the desk it was trashed things knocked off and total disaray. Look around the desk dumby. And there he was curled up behind the computer tower soaking uo the heat from the fans.

After a good check up nothing broken and seemed to be moving well and no injuries. He got a good talking to and returned to he now clean home and day to relax.

I have been keeping snakes for almost three years this was my first escape. and his top is weighted with like 10lbs of junk on a board to keep him from getting out.

This convinced Carrie that vision cages or precision caging is our next expence. LOL

Thanks to what I have read on here and had seen other people go through. I didn't freak only started adding up vision cages and all the works for all my herp and all the future ones. They give a bulk discount.. LOL

Awww, I'm so glad you found him safe and sound

I agree, after reading so many stories here, I think I will be able to keep a calm head if it ever happens to me, as well. This forum rocks!

Glad you found him. I hate that panic feeling when you realize that a snake is not where it should be ... I get paranoid in the middle of the night when the kids have been down with the snakes, I have to go check or I can't sleep.

Glad to hear you found Orpheus so quickly and that he was no worse for the ware! I found a tiny escapee (hatchling corn) in my panty drawer after having him only a couple days. I have long since learned the art of securing the lid. I guess some boys just know what they like!
