humid tanks; it can be done!

I know that it's often said that is' hard to keep humidity in a tank during shed time; I myself used to have a tough time until I got this foodservice-grade plastic wrap! It is awesome stuff; clings right onto itself where you want it, makes a nice tight seal. I lift it every morning and evening to give some fresh air to the snake, and spray a little bit with water from a spritzer. Pics...

    The stuff:

whoa, now thats humid. sometimes when my snakes go on there warm sides, or i mist the tub the moisture evaporates into the air and condensates on the front of the tub.

looks like you've got the whole aquarium thing down

Of course it "CAN" be done ... but it's soooo much easier in plastic tubs.

Whoa. That looks a bit overdone. Wouldn't it be easier to poke a few hole in the wrap? Leave the corners open? It might reduce the amount of lifting and ventilating you have to do manually.

I actually have a gap in the front, on the left; you can see the lost humidity in the lower corner
Until my man gets a spare moment (which should be no time soon, lol) I have to make-do with tanks, as there's no one else to help me build a rack. And someone would definately get hurt if I tried to use the nail gun and table saw myself! (that person being me...)

Sure it can be done. I had a problem with high humidity when I dumped coconut husk in.

I use that for my horned frog; I like it because it holds humidity well but doesn't get all soppy, if you mix it just right. for my BPs I am using newspaper with paper towel over it; seems to work good with the plastic over the lid

You can also have a wood lid on top with just enough ventilation to allow for a humidity build up.
