grumpy after being probed

is it normal for a snake (in this case a hog island boa) being very grumpy hours after being probed?

i wasn't there for the probing but almost got tagged twice when we were checking her out about 6 hours later.

is this normal behaviour?

IME, it's not the probing that bothers them ... it's the "restraining".

as a woman we are supposed to have a yearly visit with the doctor and "probed" - i've never heard of any of us biting anyone afterwards LOL

so it's the restraining....... ahhhhhhhhh *light goes on*
