He may not be using it because it doesn't feel secure enough. And therefore, he may not be cooling off (or warming up, depending on which side they're on) as he should, because he has to choose security over thermoregulating.


Yes...take that hide out. BUT...you should replace it..preferably with one identical to one he already likes.
