Congrats on getting a better handle on your husbandry, however it's a good idea actually to not handle your snake while they are in the shed process. You'll notice that before the snake is "in blue" that his/her coloring gets darker and more drab - this is the beginning of the shed of process and it's best to not handle that very much or if you can help it, not at all.
Most snakes in shed become nervous and/or irritible but seem to return to their former disposition after shedding. =)
