Here's to You!
Just something that's been on my mind lately. None of us are islands, rarely do we indulge in this hobby and love of herps alone or if we feel we do...do we really? Most of us know each other to some degree through this lovely forum but we forget or don't know about the folks that are behind the scenes.
So here's to all those spouses, boyfriends, girlfriends, family and friends who even if they think we are nuts - they let us be nuts.
Here's to the spouse or partner that checks the eggs when you can't, who works those extra hours to pay for that snake you MUST have or cleans the tubs with you long into a hot summer night.
Here's to the spouse that doesn't like snakes but loves you.
Here's to that person that sits with you trying to budget in another morph purchase this year or at least doesn't harrass you for buying a new snake rather than a new couch.
Here's to the partner that spends long hours talking about dreams and hopes, scribbling punnet squares, arguing combinations of this and that.
Here's to the friends who listen to you babble on about hets and still call you on the weekend to hang out. Here's to the friends that understand when you can't hang out because you think your snake is ovulating.
Here's to the parents that understand their childs fascination with herps even if they don't like them one bit. Here's to the parents that do share it and find a new way to bond through a mutual hobby.
To the unknown of you that support the folks that are the screen names I know...thank you all for what you do!

Beautiful and true! Thank you for expressing that, Jo. We need to remember those we too often take for granted.

Awwwwwww (isn't that like the 10th Awwwwww, you've gotten out of me today? LOL).
I just read that to Karl - I think he really appreciated that! Because he's the one that doesn't love snakes (held J-Lo on a dare and almost vomited from the creeps - it was really sad, especially the shakes he got when I placed the little ball in his hands and warned him not to drop her), yet doesn't complain one bit when a new one enters the house!
He's fine with them around him, just can't touch them.
Yeah, my man is a snake wimp, but he's MY snake wimp! LOL

I need a spouse like that. Mine likes to nag at me for buying new snakes, yell at me for spending our money, and thinks they're a waste of time.
Animals are my passion and my life.
Never, ever underestimate the vital importance of strict and proper quarantine. There is no such thing as being too careful. One mistake can cost a world of damage, and regret that lasts a lifetime.

Re: Here's to You!
Here's to you pain pills! For keeping me cleaning tubs even when my back says no more!
Seriously, my fiance puts up with a whole lot. Not just with the snakes but having to live with and put up with me and my hyperactivity.
