Ok Guys well i managed to get a few pics of my snake and well it was during feeding time so ill put up my best ones here it is:

You feed in the tank? Becareful with the bedding, wouldn't want him injesting some of that apsen and causing an inpaction.

I feed live in my bp's tub with aspen. If a snake can digest rat bones I'm pretty sure a peice or two of aspen wont hurt. Cool pics Loki!!!

I would worry more about it getting stuck in his mouth...that looks really fluffy...must have put it in recently.

Ionno, I've heard of snakes injesting that stuff then killing themselves due to impaction. The very reason I feed in separate tubs.

That may be true, but if that happened I would say it was because the owners weren't practicing good enough husbandry. I always watch very closely when I feed mine so she doesnt get a mouthful of aspen. And for them to die of impaction it would have had to been a mouthful not just a piece or 2. Not trying to offend anybody or start a war so please dont take it that way. Just trying to give info on the subject.

I feed all of mine in their enclosures and I use aspen. Their bodies are designed to digest fur, bones and teeth - some stray aspen doesn't stand a chance. There's very little danger of impaction from aspen.


I would however, suggest that you replace those strip and dial thermometers with a digital thermometer/hygrometer like AcuRite - you'll find it much more accurate.

Good point, I just remember a big inside/outside enclosure debate at another forum, and the substrate issue was brought up most.
