    What shall I do ?

As you all know I have had Deebo for a week today.

He is still so active & even during the day, if i walk (as quietly as I can, so as not to disturb him) to peep at him in his tub, he will be out like a shot, looking for escape. Its like he wants to come out. My corns do this when they want to come out..

I tried feeding him a pinky last night, warmed it slightly, he looked like he was about to strike it, as he held his little head really still & sniffed it, but then he just turned away & wasnt interested...

he is in a tub. He is stacked on top of my corns viv, in the living room. ( i keep it as quiet & as noise free as poss) Do you think maybe he is feeling a bit exposed ? do you think that I should cover the sides or something to make him feel more secure ? sorry for the essay

He is 4 months old, weighs 75g. Thanks

Question Re: What shall I do ?

Do you have a brown paper bag? Place the food item and the snake inside and either tape or staple the bag closed.Leave them together for about a hour then check on them.Do not set them on the heat source!!! He might not be ready to eat since you have only had him for a week and are handling him ,during this week.It is best to leave them alone for the first week or two when you get them.Be patient he will eat when he is ready .

I did have a paper bag which the Fuzzy came in, but it got chucked! I havent handled him at all since I got him, apart from to weigh him on Thursday, that was a max of about 5 seconds. Other than that I have only been into his tub to change water.

I suppose I am just being impatient.. I just want him to eat for the 1st time & then I will know he is happy !

    I am a worrier..

    Thanks guys.

Re: What shall I do ?

I had a problem feeding one of my BP's, and the pet store recommended, if they are frozen, to turn on the hot water faucet and let it run for a bit until very hot. You will need to buy feeding tongs if you don't already have a pair. Place the pinky in the water and let it thaw for about 2 minutes. Take the feeding tongs and grab the end of the pinky and dangle it in front of him, he should then eat, if he doesn't then there might be something seriously wrong with him, and I would take him to the vet immediately.

P.S.- if your local pet shop doesn't have feeding tongs, then you can buy some at http://secure.zpets.com/results22.tp...ku=09761262210

Running the water directly on the rodent? Did your snake actually eat the drenched rodent? I let my frozen thawed rodent thaw out on its own for my snakes that will take them.Just because the snake does not eat the first time offered food does not mean there is something wrong with it.

Re: What shall I do ?

make sure he has plenty of hides and the temps are warm enough. it might take a while to get him on frozen from the start. you might have to do the "rodent dance"with tongs to get him to strike. imo, it is against the snakes instincts to eat frozen/thawed, so it takes a little work sometimes.
