NJ's laws mystify me. This thing with Corns is very strange. It's also illegal to have Anacondas, but you can have Retics, Burmese and Rocks. NJ is also the state that banned the keeping of any and all turtles and tortoises. You're not allowed to have larval salamanders because it's too difficult to tell the difference between endangered and non-endangered species at that stage.

I've been trying for quite some time to get a hold of NJF&W in order to get permits for my own snakes. Apparently there's only one office that handles this. I've left several messages with them, firstly no one ever answers the phone there, no one returns my messages and now the system says the mailbox is full.

From what I've read, it seems as if the state wants you to buy only from pet shops here. In order to get a permit you need to produce receipts. I bought my snakes at reptile shows and the last thing I thought of was getting receipts!!
