i listen to everyone elses advice about keeping the humidty at a good level but i just cant seem to do it....it might be because im new at this whole thing but im trying and i have had plenty of research but i kno my knowledge is still expanding alittle bit more info would help...thanks

If you described your setup, that would help a lot.

What sort of enclosure is it? What kind of lid do you have? What is the current humidity holding at? What are you measuring it with? What methods have you tried to raise the humidity? ....things like that.

right now its just a 10 gal because me and my wife are moving shortly so the bigger one has been sent out......it has a screen at the top and i know that lets alot of heat out but i heard about this trick of taking tinfoil and putting it over the top of it and the temp stays at 92 degrees and the humidty is ranging from 40-65 it depends on when i spray the tank. the substraight is aspen snake bedding....and i have a thermo-hygrometer measuring the temps and humidity

Analog or digital thermo-hygrometer...by the sounds I'm guessing digital. What type of heating element are you using? Under tank Heater (UTH) or a heat bulb/ceramic heat? I'm going to guess that if you are having troubles with 10 gallon tank, then you are going to have some major troulbes with a bigger one. Good idea on getting it fixed now. Good job!

The joys of glass houses! Another option you might want to consider is changing to platic tub housing. It certainly isn't display worthy - but it sure makes for ease of keeping temps and humidity right where they need to be - and the snakes love them too! Almost worry free (those of us with OCD personalities will worry anyway! LOL)

That's my trick. Put 3 layers of tinfoil over 2/3 of the lid, then overlay it with 2 layers of duct tape (I prefer black). This will help keep the humidity and heat in. Switch to coconut husk substrate, the kind that comes in a compressed brick -- Bed-A-Beast or Eco Earth. It will work a LOT better at keeping humidity up than aspen, and you'll only have to mist every 3-4 days or so. Here's a picture thread I made about it:

You said temps are at 92...what is the cool side temp? What do heating sources do you use?
