Might build a rack...
I am gaining way in encouraging my man to build a rack. We have our snakes in tanks now, but we May be purchasing a property with a Very small house; there's no way we could fit our tanks and BPs in there, and any spare room would be needed for the water-filled fish tanks! Mark was pretty against racks/r-maids, saying they aren't good for display purposes, but I think the space saving properties are winning him over..
So, compare racks and r-maids to tanks... what's your preference?

For me personally....I've decided r-maid is the way to go. And I won't hesitate to use racks when I have more snakes. With all the fish tanks, you've got lots of "display" already...but if Mark really wants a snake on display, maybe you could put all the snakes in racks except one. Keep one in his/her glass tank....whichever one seems most suited to display.

you know my vote! racks are ideal for ball pythons, not all snakes but balls do really well in them. feed good, shed good and grow good!!! as far as display, if you want to see them just take them out and have at it...

You know, that's a great idea! My BCI is in a really cool cage with sliding doors, etc; he could be our dosplay item, hehe. This would be cool anyway, cuz I know you're not supposed to house boids near pythons due to the risk of IBD, right?

Boas and Pythons are both boids But racks are the way to go for sure.. You could make an awsome display out of some oak or something for the living room or what not..

im boulding mine to not only house them due to small spaces but also for show. Something simular to what you would see in a nice petstore. full wall cage unit. about 2 feet deep 6 to 8 feet long and 5 feet tall.

Re: Might build a rack...
i just built a small rack for the first time last week. havnt got it setup yet but i cant wait. I used to have my Bp in a 36 x 18 x 18 tank. that was big enough for one adult BP. if u can picture 3 r'maids that measure 36 x 18 x 6, u can house 3 adults bp's in the same space as one adult if u have a rack. Then if u factor in the amount of space needed to house hatchlings. U can house at least 9 in that same space. If space is an issue, a rack is the way to go. If u wanta show off your prized BP, thats just an excuse to take him or her out for a few minutes.
