Genetic or normal?

If you can't tell by my collection, I have a stripe obsession. I saw this guy on KS and really wish I had $1K to drop on him, whether he's genetic or not. What's your opinion on him, do you think he's just a pretty normal or something more special?

Just a pretty normal unless this person selling him says he is something genetic... but from the ad, I cant tell if thats the case. Although, I would never pay 1k for him if he is just a pretty normal...

Definitely not "normal", but that "look" probably isn’t “genetic” in the way most people without a ton of experience breeding these animals would define it ... I have a couple in my collection that have that "look" as well as the stripe and it doesn't reproduce consistently ... although, as far as selectively breeding with morphs like pastels, spiders, cinnies, lessers, etc ... the babies have come out very very pretty ... so I still consider the appearance a winner.

Some traits are cut and dry genetic, others have genetic “elements”.

Well I look at it like this- if selective breeding has shown to increase the appearance (not necessarily every single time) of a certain trait, for example reduced patterning, striping, high gold, etc, I don't see why striping would be left out of that group.

Did you catch the thread about how Adam at 8Ball had a selective breeding scheme going on to hopefully score a reduced spider? Well, he did it! I say go for it and see what happens. WORST case scenario you spend your time cleaning up snake poo from an animal you really enjoy looking at, and even then, there's a chance you'll be rewarded with really cool striped offspring.

I think it's a neat looking snake and I think there is something special about dark eyed balls.

i dig funky stripes too! that guy is cool looking, not sure about 1k though. here's a pic of a little girl i picked up this season. my unproven funky stripe, i hope is genetic girl
