Enroflaxin does just about nothing when used orally on ball pythons ... ball pythons have very poor absorption rates for oral anti-biotics and the only way to effectively administer them is by injection ... Bayer (the company that manufactures Baytril) has done specific testing with Baytril on ball pythons with respiratory infections and concluded that IM injections are by far the most effective method of treatment.

As to the OP's question ... bacterial infections can't just be treated with any old anti-biotic off the shelf ... some strains of bacteria are resistant to some anti-biotics ... gram pos infections don't respond to gram neg anti-biotics ... etc ... there is a lot more to it than just loading up a needle with some meds and firing away ... unless you have a ton of experience treating infections in ball pythons, the most responsible thing to do is to have your snakes infection cultured and then tested to determine the most effective anti-biotic for treating that infection ... you'll need a vet.
