    Re: Happy Canada Day!

Accck it's so sad how little Americans know of Canada and how much we know about you

Okay here's a quick lesson and the link I used for the info if you want to learn more...

"Canada Day celebrates the creation of the dominion of Canada through the British North American Act on July 1, 1867 uniting three British territories — the Province of Canada (southern Ontario and southern Quebec), Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick - into a federation."

"The holiday was formally established by statute in 1879 and was originally called Dominion Day, making reference to the term "dominion," which was first used to describe a political union within the British Empire for Canada, at a time when the British government was hesitant to adopt the name proposed by the Fathers of Confederation: Kingdom of Canada. The name was changed to Canada Day on 27 October 1982, largely harking back to the adoption of the earlier Canada Act 1982."

There you go....Canadian lesson for the day!

Nope sorry Alex...it's justice Canadian-style time for this major offense my boy!

You will not be allowed the following:

    1. No watching hockey or curling next season (yes I know it's a major blow but be strong!)

    2. When it next snows you must shovel it all without conversing with any neighbour for 2 hours about just how much snow is on the ground, how much is expected to be on the ground, how stupid you think all weather people are and hey how is your Uncle that moved "down south"? (note: this is typical Canadian behaviour to avoid moving said white crap from one's driveway)

    3. You must in the next month tell at least three Americans that "bacon is BACON...it's NOT Canadian...IT'S JUST LEAN BACON!"

    4. You must refrain from smiling smugly about Canadian gun laws, socialized medicine, clean water and low crime rates (it's not nice to make fun of the Americans even though they don't realize we are doing it )

    5. You may however still perpetuate the myth that we all go to work on dog sleds, have to shove Polar Bears off the front porch and the ever popular "well yes of course I know your cousin that moved to Moose Jaw!" (I can't take that way from you - I think it's in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms!)

Imagine forgetting Canada Day!!! No poutine for you!

so harsh! so strong! but i must take responsibiltiy for my actions. However could we perhaps negotiate the bit about the Bacon? i feel since i must wade daily into the murk of So-called American Society, it has contaminated me and forcedme to stop stressing my 'O's which in turn leads to uncanadian behavoir.

just a thought, please reconsider, please? (sad puppy face)
