Most accurate digital thermometers?
I am using a couple of digital thermometers and realized a wide range of temp readings (4 probes in one spot and 4 different temps). Anyone know of any digital thermometers that are considered to be the most accurate?

Vaughn brought me one that is AWESOME! ... Accurate to like .001 I think?? maybe more?? ... Big $$$ I'm sure ... but Vaughn knows his poop when it comes to temps ... I'm at home right now and not at the shop or I'd get you all the info on it ... Vaughn, you sleeping already?

Vaughns the one that really opened my eyes to how bad the digital and infrared thermometers that I was using really are ... If he doesn't pop on here before I get back to the shop, I'll post the info for sure.

wild bill, it is a copper atkins #sh66a one of the best thermometers for the buck. accurate to .3 tenths of one deg. lab certified!

fluke makes one model 51 that is nice too
http://ca.fluke.com/caen/products/Fl...(FlukeProducts) you could not go wrong with either of these for high accuracy.

That is if you really need THAT much accuracy in your temps

that's correct jamie, i think these are overkill for regular cage/tub use. for someone who is extremely conscious about temps and wants to know what temp every eggbox in the bator, on each shelf and wall is! this fits right in... not needed unless you are very "monkish" about exact temps! lol

Well after seeing the wide variety of temps by my thermometers I want something to tell me exactly what the temps are at any given time. Or even something to tell me how far off the thermoeters in the incubator are. The main thing I am looking for is the incubator, I don't want to be guessing if the temps I am seeing are accurate or not. With those 4 different devices I had readings from 87 degrees up to 91, thats just too much of a variation for me.

Monkish...Good word!! I was a temp freak up until I went to Adam's shop and was cured of my temperature OCD. Quality tstat + plus indicators (eating, shedding, breeding) = perfect temps!
