    Anyone tried this product? (mites)

It's by Lucky Reptile and called Bye Bye Mites.

I read all the instructions on it and seems to be available widely in the UK and it was all my reptile store had (we don't get Provent a Mite in the UK).

It says to spray the snake and the enclosure - so I took out snake and put her in the bath, then removed all the substrate and binned it - cleaned viv thoroughly with soap and water, then sprayed this stuff all over it and left it to dry. Meanwhile I sprayed the snake (making sure her eyes were protected, so I guess it never actually got on her head at all - just the rest of her).

When viv was dry (smells like anything of this chemical or whatever) I rubbed it over with paper towel and put in newspapers and paper towels for substrate.

Reintroduced snake and cleaned disinfected and Bye Bye Mites sprayed water bowel and hides.

But it smells like anything, she was trying to get out - I'm not sure as the chemicals might be bad for her or anything. When she did decide to rest inside her hide she kept her head out. I felt sorry for her so she's out now with me while I keep the viv doors open for a while.

Should I have re-cleaned it after the spray (it doesn't say so on the bottle) to get rid of the smell?

I have never heard of this product here in the states.Did you treat the substrate? If not you will still have mites as they are in the substrate also.Do you smell the product odor still? Some products still kill mites with the residue that is left behind, hence the smell.Keep us posted

The substrate I binned - I am now switched to newspaper and paper towels. She never burrowed anyway. The smell is still around - I rinsed it around with some boiling water but it won't go away. I'm sure it must be safe otherwise they wouldn't sell it ...

I've not heard of that, but I have used and I think is pretty highly recommended by most folks is Provent-A-Mite. Not sure if it's available in the UK tho...

I know - Provent-a-Mite - the best there is and recommended by everybody - unfortunately we can't get it in the UK I'd try and buy it from a US site but customs would probably seize it ...

Mmmm, I'm a total Krispy Kreem addict. The best and worst day of my life was the day they built a KK right down the street from me

Growing up in NC where Krispy Kreme was born, it tickles me to see how excited people get over it! I remembering visiting family in Oklahoma a few weeks after they got their first. They stayed in line for 2 hours to pick up donuts, because they wanted me to try these amazing donuts from this new place. I laughed so hard I cried! LOL

Well it's still new to me - so I get very excited over it. I keep trying to think of reasons to pop into town just so I can pick some up.
