This is a pic of my pos. het pied female. I'm told that it's not a sure thing so I don't get my hopes up but she's too young to prove it yet.

I don't know if that is the marker or not, but from all my reading, I would say that the "marker" can appear on normals.

    Re: het pied marker?

I've always heard that the marker is far from a deciding factor and many normals have shown it as well. That said my two WC ringers have it as well as my 100% het pied male.

    Re: het pied marker?

I was talking with Chris Simone one day and he said that the marker often means nothing. People get hung up on the marker and there's usually nothing to it. He told me the only sure way to get a het pied is to buy from a breeder with a good reputation. Mine was bought from a guy that said he thought it was het pied but wasn't sure. He sold it to me for $75 so obviously he didn't spend big bucks on it in the first place so the likelihood of it being het anything is a joke. I was simply saying that just because it has the marker doesn't mean it's a het. She's a beautiful snake though and has an awesome personality AND eats f/t so I got my money's worth! In a couple of years I will breed her to my het weird and see what comes out.
