Got my new rack setup today!!!
I just got an 18 slot double-wide 1860 rack from AP yesterday morning and finally got a chance to finish assembling it and getting everything setup. This is my first rack so I have nothing to compare it too really, but nonetheless I would highly recommend AP and plan on purchasing quite a bit more stuff from them in the future. Everything fit like a glove, it looks great, and is incredibly functional. Can't wait to get everybody moved in!
On a side note, I ordered a PE-2 temp gun for double checking temps, but it wont be here until monday. I have the thermostat probe right up against the heat cable, so should I go by the reading on the thermostat or set it a bit higher to compensate for the 1/4" of PVC and 1" of aspen between the cable and the snakes?

I got some pictures, but I can't get them to upload to my gallery. I'll keep working on it.

I am not at home right now, so I can't take a pic, but I'll try to describe to you what I do that I learned from a friend. I use CB-70's in my racks, and Helix thermostats. What I did, was cut a piece of the plastic off of the lid of one of the CB-70's, and taped my thermostat probe in between the plastic and a piece of folded paper towel. I then tape the whole piece of plastic with the probe attached to the heat tape. What this does, is better simulate the temperature in the tub, because the probe pics up temp from the heat tape through a piece of plastic, that it is taped to, that is the same material as the tub. Your PE-2 will also be a great tool for helping you adjust temps. I hope this wasn't to unclear, and when I get home in about ten days, I'll take a picture of what I am talking about, so that you may see it.
Hope that helps,

Re: Got my new rack setup today!!!
The AP rack comes with a mounting spot for the thermostat probe. My PE-2 should be here today, but I went ahead and got and indoor/outdoor thermometer from walmart which tells me the temps for the cool side and the basking spot along with the humidity. Everything seems to be set up pretty good now. I'm getting consistent temps of 92 for the basking area and 81 at the cool end. Humidity is in the low 50's.

Please do, Tim! I'm interested in seeing this for my own rack. Thanks!
