Helix or Herpstat?

Hi Everyone...I currently use a Ranco but have decided to upgrade to a proportional. I am looking for some recommendations on which is better and why? Also, the best place (i.e. price) of where to buy from.

It's my understanding that thermostat choice is not a life or death issue ... at least that's what I've been told.

Well someone had to get everyone riled up around here...we haven't had a good or bad debate in at least the last 24 hours...way too long.


Actually...I didn't even think to use the search function...but once I did I found the info...I think I am leaning toward a Herpstat (seems neither is the clear winner...so it comes down to cost) ...so where is the cheapest place to get one? Ebay and the usual places turned up nothing?

Actually both Google and Froogle were useless I got a few of the top sites back but all were around $108+. Just seeing you the experts knew of a less known site for great deals.
