I offer every single snake at my facility a hide ... some use them, some don't.

I use these for hatchlings ...



(I buy them at home depot and drill them out myself)

These for sub adults and males ....

and these for the monsters ....



(I order them with my adult rack systems from www.freedombreeder.com)

Once I start pairing males and females in the fall I remove hides from the breeder girls and leave them out until they lay ... Over the years I've found that the stress of constantly disturbing the hide during breeding season to check for copulations, ovulations, sheds, and eggs out weighs the benefits of having a hide at all ... so now I just pull them.
