Hello everyone. I'm brand new to the board and i'm having one hell of a hard time feeding my new BP. I've had snakes for over 15 years and I must have been lucky because every snake I have raised always had a huge appetite. Until now...
This is my second BP and I am aware they can get picky about food and tend to fast as adults but the one I have now is very young, he ate the first 2 times I fed him but for the last 5 weeks he refuses to eat.
The temps are low 90's during the day and low 80's at night.
He has 2 spots to hide, one on the cool side one on the hot side.
Plenty of fresh water daily.
He spends his days hiding and comes out at night, a very active snake.
I handle him maybe once or twice a week for a few minutes if that.
I have tried feeding him during the day, at night, live, frozen and pre killed. I tried leaving him over night in a paper bag with a mouse and I also tried rats. I had the vets check him out and they said he is fine. Every single suggestion from a friend, pet store and the books I have all failed.
The only thing I can think of is just wait until he sheds and try feeding him then but I have to admit I am worried. I'm just hoping one of you may have a suggestion that I have yet to try. Any advice any of you have would be most appreciated.
