    Exclamation Hiding..forever?

Well about a month ago, I kind of gave my tank a new make-over, making everything better. Temps are perfect, but I still have a bit of a humidity problem since I am in a mesh-top tank, but I spray a lot, so I'm okay. Well when I did the make-over, I replaced the hide on the hot-spot with a much smaller one. My old one was way too big. This new one is much snugger and gives my BP (Tilly) a much tighter fit. Well I've heard that a happy BP is one that you never see, but, literally, I've only seen Tilly out of his new hide like 3 times since like a month ago. I know they usually come out at night, but I've been staying up VERY late due to the massive amount of culminating projects I'm getting at school, and I still don't see Tilly coming out. He practically stays in that hide 24/7. Is there anything I should actually be worried about, or am I just another worry-wart!

    Thanks guys!

    Mitchell

Not if he's happy with the temps in his hide ... his choice.

If you have two hides that are exactly alike, then you can rest assured that he is choosing temps over security. No biggie. I swear mine stay in their warm hides a lot too. Each snake is different.

    Re: Hiding..forever?

Ok well, I picked up Tilly's hide to see if anything was wrong and....he's about to shed!!! Well that maybe explains his hermit-ness. So I bumped up the humidity A LOT, and stuck some sphagnum moss under the other hide. Now I'm praying to the shedding gods for a good, one-piece, clean shed ><

    Re: Hiding..forever?

You might want to cover part of the mesh lid to help keep in that humidity. I hear that Reynolds Press N Seal stuff is great for that. Also make sure both hides are identical as some of them will pick a favorite hide and if the other one is different they won't budge even if they need to LOL
