coccidia is an extremely contagious life threatening intestinal parasite. if a cricket comes in contact with feces containing the parasite it can pass the parasite on to whatever eats it or comes in contact with it. this is an important reason why you should get your crickets from a good clean source and not take an uneaten cricket from one animal's enclosure and put it in another.Originally Posted by mr~python
bearded dragons can actually host a small amount of coccidia parasites and be completely unaffected by them and not ever require treatment, but if a cricket comes in contact with the beardie's feces and then comes in contact with or is eaten by another lizard it can pass the parasite on and become deadly to its new host. basic care and hygiene can usually prevent this from happening if you are attentive to the issue.
