Dented Eye - Pre-Shed
OK, I did a search on dented eye, but seeing as this is my first (that I've noticed anyway), I thought I'd ask. Is it unusual or not to see a dented eye right before a shed? The humidity is a constant 60% at all times, and fresh water available.
Is it more likely the impending shed (just about to clear from blue) or something more worrisome? She fed on Tuesday on a small rat, but I don't believe that it's a bite - there's no wound - just an indented eye.

Re: Dented Eye - Pre-Shed
I've only been keeping BP for about a year, so I might not be right. I think it is caused by lack of moisture or dehydration. My BP has only did that to me twice. I upped the humidity to 70-80% and it went away. If your BP is in shed, I would suggest keeping the humidity higher to help the shedding process anyway. Please correct me if I'm wrong everyone.

Re: Dented Eye - Pre-Shed
Thanks Keith! That's what I thought too, but last week, because of her mites (which I'm treating with Provent-A-Mite) she was soaking and overflowing her water and bumped the humidity to the "Hi" reading for about a week (100%).
She also doesn't feel dry to the touch. Hoping it's just a pre-shed thing. Looks like a star in the middle of her eye.

Same thing happened to me right before my bp shed. The humidity was perfect, i think it was just pre-shed. It was gone after she shed.

OK now that you all have said you've noticed it pre-shed, i must say i noticed it post-shed and i'm kind of worried. It's been a week after his shed and he still has indented eyes. The humidity is at 80% but the temp. is low. He seems to see ok regardless. I hope he's ok.
